As promised, Anne Hathaway has vanished into a “plume of smoke” following the release of her last movie of this year.
As her latest movie Verity was all set to hit theaters on Friday, October 2, the 43-year-old American actress took to Instagram to share a cheeky video, showing fans that she actually means her promise.
Previously, while speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the actress was asked what she’d do after the press tour for Verity comes to an end, to which she playfully answered, “The movie comes out on Oct. 2, and Oct. 3, I’m going to vanish in a plume of smoke, and you’re not gonna see me until you have to. I’m definitely gonna disappear and take some time off.”
In the newly released video, Hathaway, who is expecting her third child, can be seen getting ready for the premiere of Verity, proudly flaunting her growing baby bump in a chic off-the-shoulder, deep neckline fitted white top, paired with cream-colored trousers.
"So, we're heading out to the 'Verity' premiere," she said in the video while getting ready, continuing, "'Verity' comes out in theatres Friday, Oct. 2.”
Right after saying, “And then on Oct. 3rd,” the actress suddenly disappeared into thin air, with one of her team members stepped into the frame asking, "Where is she?"
The clip then transitions to fake news headlines about Anne Hathaway vanishing before showing a message from the actress calling on other A-list stars to end 2026 on a high note.
“Zendaya, Tom, Rob, Florence — bring it home!” the Princess Diaries star wrote.
