King Charles has paid a visit to a hi-tech music workshop for young people, an initiative launched by Apple and King's Trust Creative Labs.
On Wednesday, October 7, the event was attended by Sir Elton John, who sat besides the monarch, as they enjoyed an energetic performance from Skye Newman.
Where was the Apple event held?
The event was held at a music hall in Apple's headquarters building, in the restored Battersea Power Station in south west London.
It was reported that the power station share an unexpected royal link as it had once provided the electricity for Buckingham Palace.
About the Creative Labs
Sharing clips from the event on the official Instagram account, King Charles' office penned in the caption, "The Creative Labs offer young people opportunities to learn from Apple's experts across various creative industries as they explore potential career pathways."
"The new programme builds on a long-running partnership between @Apple and The @KingsTrust and launches during the Trust's 50th anniversary year," it added.
"In the newly unveiled @AppleMusicHall, The King and Tim Cook were joined by Sir @EltonJohn, a longstanding supporter of The King’s Trust and @AppleMusic, to watch a short performance by @SkyeNewman__, together with young people supported by The King's Trust."
Reacting to the social media post, Elton John turned to the comment section, writing, "A pleasure to spend time with you today, Your Majesty."
The King was greeted by the company's CEO, Tim Cook, and was introduced to Prophet Guillory, Apple Music's head of artist services, tools and community, who was praised for his work as a mentor for young people.
Charles was also introduced to young performers at the event, and was seen exchanging conversation with the main act of the night.
According to the Mirror, Jonathan Townsend, the King's Trust's UK chief executive, said, "Together with Apple, we have already opened up valuable opportunities for thousands of young people across the UK through our longstanding partnership."
"We are proud to build on this work with the Creative Labs program, an exciting new chapter in our partnership that will help even more young people develop the confidence and creative digital skills they need to take their next steps towards employment," he continued.
"We cannot wait to see how they use these experiences to realise their potential and discover where their talents can take them."
