Victoria Beckham has revealed husband David Beckham has an unusual way of signalling when he wants dinner party guests to leave.

The 52-year-old fashion designer recently unveiled a luxury homeware collection in collaboration with German retailer Westwing. In a new video, she shared her top hosting tips and the things to avoid.

Victoria lifted the lid on David’s clever tactic for getting guests to leave, revealing how the football star, 51, uses the home’s lighting to drop a subtle hint.

Speaking in a behind-the-scenes clip shared to her Instagram on Monday, Victoria explained: “You know what happens in the Beckham house when David wants people to leave? He literally walks around the room blowing out the candles hoping that people will get the... get the hint!”

David’s desire to end dinner parties may be linked to his meticulous candle-cleaning routine, which he associates with his lifelong struggle with OCD.

On his Netflix series in 2023, he revealed he spends hours tidying after his family goes to bed because he hates waking up to a mess.

Davis explained, “It's tiring going around every single candle cleaning it. I clip the candle wax, I clean the glass, that's my pet hate, the smoke around the inside of a candle… I know, it's weird.”

To note, elsewhere in her video, Victoria also branded serving paper napkins an “unforgivable sin”, saying she “wouldn’t turn up” to a dinner party where they were used.

She shared her table-setting essentials, including a fork, champagne coupe and butter dish, and insisted phones should “never ever” be placed on the table, calling it “very inelegant” and unhygienic.
