Actress Selma Blair’s lawyers have shared some crucial details regarding the circumstances surrounding an incident aboard a flight, leading to her detainment and assault charges.

On October 11, several reports suggested the Anger Management alum was arrested after an incident aboard a flight while she was travelling from Los Angeles to New York’s John F.

Kennedy International Airport. She was arraigned the following day and pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault.

During the court proceedings, her attorney, Shawn Barnes, reportedly told the court that Blair had missed drugs prescribed to treat multiple sclerosis.

Additionally, he stated the actress had recently fallen and hit her head, while working long and exhausting hours on set ahead of the flight.

The attorney further argued that the alleged assault was unintentional, while another lawyer, Joshua Reitzas, described his client as “the gold standard.”

A judge set Blair’s bail at $20,000 in cash, a $60,000 bond or a $60,000 partially secured bond. As per Page Six, the 54-year-old actress has since been released.

However, the allegations extend beyond the flight. An affidavit cited by E! News stated, "While [the officer] was securing the defendant on a stretcher, the defendant removed her leg from the stretcher straps and kicked [the officer] repeatedly about the face, neck and chest.”

"The defendant caused her swelling to her jaw and substantial pain to her face, neck and chest," the affidavit added.

The incident reportedly left two flight attendants injured, with authorities confirming that the matter is under investigation by the FBI and the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FBI confirmed the probe has been launched about the alleged assault aboard the flight, saying it was notified by Port Authority police after the plane arrived at JFK on October 11.

It is pertinent to mention the allegations remain subject to the legal process.
