Robert Pattinson has officially confirmed that production on The Batman Part II has been halted for a temporary time period after director Matt Reeves stepped away to address a family matter.
While conversing with Official Pop Drop in London on October 11, The Twilight Saga star acknowledged “We’re pausing for a little bit and then we’re going to figure it all out.”
Earlier, representatives for DC Studios and Warner Bros. confirmed that filming had been temporarily paused while Reeves focused due to personal matter, which remains undisclosed.
Additionally, the studios also expressed their support for the filmmaker and said they looked forward to continuing the project.
The production pause comes after multiple delays that have affected the movie since the release of The Batman in 2022. Reeves had faced challenges finalising the sequel’s script, which was eventually completed in 2025.
A report suggested filming was underway earlier this year, with Reeves sharing a glimpse of Pattinson returning as the masked superhero in July.
Batman Part II release date
Currently, the Batman Part II is currently expected to arrive in cinemas in February 2028.
The sequel is among multiple major projects keeping Pattinson busy.
