Prince William has issued a major update on 2026 Earthshot Prize amid Kate Middleton's new health concerns.

On Saturday, October 24, the official Instagram account of The Prince and Princess of Wales released a video to acknowledge the efforts of countries like Canada, Bhutan, Australia and the US in restoring nature.

"Introducing the 2026 Earthshot Prize Finalists to Protect and Restore Nature, who are making phenomenal efforts to ensure that by 2030, the natural world is growing and not shrinking," read the caption alongside the Instagram post featuring the projects of the Earthshot Prize finalists.

It continued, "Yellowstone to Yukon has reconnected 3,400 kilometres of wilderness across Canada and the United States, protecting iconic species and restoring nature for communities."

"It proves people can work together across political borders to protect nature as one living system," the caption added.

Highlighting Bhutan's effort, Kensington Palace noted that the counry "has quite literally written the protection of nature into its national constitution. Its forests protect Himalayan water systems that help sustain 1.6 billion people downstream across South Asia."

"A country with just 800,000 people is helping to protect the water security of a sixth of humanity," it added.

The appreciative post came just days before William and Kate embark on their trip to India for the sixth Earthshot Prize awards in Mumbai.

Just a day before this video from Kensington Palace New Idea revealed Kate's reason to not join King Charles, Queen Camilla and Prince William at the 60th anniversary of the Aberfan tragedy in Welsh.

"Kate knows when to bow out and when not to – she’s fully aware of how much attention she steals when she’s in the Royal lineup and the King and Queen appreciate her sensibilities when it comes to a cause close to his heart," an insider told the aforementioned outlet.

"The 60th anniversary of that terrible day is no trifle and not every Wales-related engagement needs both of them present – especially one focused on the King and the direct connection William already has with the community," they added.

The tipster went on to explain that "The cold and flu season came through early this year in the UK."

"Don’t be surprised to see William flying solo while Kate takes extra precautions this winter with her weakened immune system," added the source.
