Kate Winslet is set to be honored with CineMerit Award of Munich Film Festival for her extraordinary achievement in cinema world.
The Titanic actress will attend the German festival for the European premiere of her latest thriller flick Lee in June 2024.
After the screening of Lee, Kate will receive the CineMerit award and will participate in sit-down discussion of the movie.
The festival director Christoph Gröner and artistic co-director Julia Weigl gave a joint statement expressing their joy.
They stated, “We’re delighted that Kate Winslet will be celebrating the film’s European premiere with us in Munich.”
“Lee is a wonderfully intense character portrait. It’s important to us that the Munich International Film Festival, with its many films and voices sends a clear signal for democracy, diversity, and cohesion," they further added.
The biographical-drama film Lee, which was produced by Kate herself, is a story of photographer Elizabeth `Lee' Miller, a fashion model who became a war correspondent for Vogue magazine during World War II.
Lee, under the direction of Ellen Kuras, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9,2023. It will release in cinemas on September 13, 2024.
The film cast includes Marion Cotillard, Andrea Riseborough, Noémie Merlant, Josh O’Connor, and Andy Samberg.
