Mitchell Brewing Co, located in Lincolnshire, UK, gained widespread attention on social media after introducing a beer named "Osama Bin Lager."
As per BBC, the product quickly became popular among users online, leading to overwhelming demand.
Reports suggest the company had to disconnect its phones and temporarily close its website due to an influx of reservations.
While sharing about "Osama Bin Lager" on Instagram, Mitchell Brewing Co wrote, "Pints of beauty are doing a poll over on Twitter. What are we thinking, Carling or Osama Bin Lager? Can't be a difficult choice can it!"
The brewery, owned by Luke Mitchell and wife Catherine Mitchell, also features other unique brews named after political figures like Kim Jong-Un and Vladimir Putin, known as Kim Jong Ale and Putin Porter, respectively.
Luke explained to the BBC that these names are meant to be humorous takes on notorious figures, stating, "They're all tongue-"They're names – a nicer outlook on some horrible dictators. We've woken up the last couple of mornings with thousands and thousands and thousands of notifications.
He further added, everyone laughs when they see the names on the bar. As far as I'm aware, no one's been offended, but I'm sure there is someone out there."
His wife, Catherine, said to the BBC, "It's been crazy. The phone just hasn't stopped for the last 48 hours. I think there's always a risk of somebody being offended."
However, despite the controversy, the brewery commits to donating £10 from every barrel of Osama Bin Lager to a charity supporting victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
