Jennie, who debuted her solo studio album on March 7, 2025 met with an unexpected response from fans as many speculated that her track like Jennie, which gained nine million views in just a day, sound similar to Alia's introductory song Rani from 2023's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

On Friday, the 53-year-old composer turned to his Instagram to addressed the ongoing debate as he shared a three-part social media post noting, "Rani and Jennie are names that rhyme, so a similar flow in one phrase doesn't make it a copy."

Pritam went on to pen, "In music, minor similarities are bound to happen - whether through rhymes, phrasing, or even within the same genre."

He continued, "Music is about creativity, unique, artistic perspective, influence, and sometimes pure coincidence - especially when artists exist on the same creative wavelength."

While expressing his good wishes for the Korean artist, Pritam concluded, "Rather than tearing artists down, celebrating their work makes far more sense. Wishing Jennie all the best for her new album!"
