Sony has officially confirmed the first title in the PlayStation Plus Essential lineup for August 2026.
Big Walk, the forthcoming cooperative adventure from House House, the studio behind Untitled Goose Game, will release directly on the subscription service on August 4, the same day it becomes available all across the globe.
The announcement makes Big Walk one of the few games to get a day-one PlayStation Plus Essential launch, enabling subscribers to play it without an extra purchase.
What is a Big Walk?
Unlike conventional competitive multiplayer games, Big Walk highlights teamwork and exploration.
Players navigate a vast open world, resolving environmental puzzles, obstacles and using creative communication to progress.
The developers explain the game as an experience, which is particularly designed to be enjoyed with friends over multiple sessions instead of through random matchmaking.
Additionally, the game supports cross-platform play, allowing PlayStation users to team up with players on Windows PC, Mac and Nintendo Switch.
