Former child star Raquel Lee has sued The Walt Disney Company, alleging the studio was negligent in failing to protect her from repeated sexual abuse by a Disney employee while filming the 2001 movie The Poof Point.
On Friday, August 21, the Grow House star filed a civil negligence lawsuit against Disney in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
As reported by PEOPLE, in the complaint, Bolleau alleged she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by an unnamed Disney employee while filming The Poof Point at 14.
She claimed he supplied her with alcohol and assaulted her in Salt Lake City and during a flight to California.
The Amanda Show actress also alleged that Disney failed to protect her despite warning signs that something was wrong.
Court documents alleged Disney instructed Bolleau to “bond” with the employee while production kept her apart from her guardian and provided inadequate supervision.
Bolleau shared that the employee “would torment” her on set, making whispered remarks such as “last night was so good” in front of other adults, while claiming no one at Disney intervened.
Her claims also revealed that those on set saw dramatic changes in her behavior and performance after the alleged abuse began, including signs of illness and intoxication.
She alleged this was “a stark difference from the dedicated, studious and diligent child actress who had joined the movie.”
According to Bolleau, Disney did not investigate the concerns and instead faulted her deteriorating performance, labeling her “out of control” and scrapping another role.
Bolleau has requested compensation for financial and emotional damages, plus punitive damages and attorneys’ fees, without specifying a total.
Her attorneys, Douglas Wigdor and Jane Kim, said, “Over the last decade, countless child actors have come forward to bravely share their experiences of abuse by adults in entertainment. As former government prosecutors, our message to the entertainment industry is simple: This conduct is inexcusable, and those involved — directly or indirectly — must be held accountable.”
After The Poof Point, Bolleau had a recurring voice role on The Proud Family (2001–2005) and later returned for its Disney+ revival, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (2022–2025).
