KATSEYE has been forced to drop out of Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields festival after a medical emergency.
Why did KATSEYE pull out of Daisy Chain Fields?
It was reported that the girl group would not be participating in the festival over the weekend after Megan sprained her ankle during a rehearsal.
Addressing the decision, Megan turned to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, August 27, expressing regret over not being able to perform at the festival.
"We're so sorry to share that we are unable to perform at Daisy Chain Fields. Yesterday I sprained my ankle during tour rehearsal and my doctors have advised me to stay off it and let it heal so I can be ready for tour," Megan penned.
She continued, "I'm heartbroken to miss Daisy Chain Fields, especially because of everything this festival stands for."
What is Daisy Chain Fields about?
KATSEYE was one of the many acts scheduled to perform at Daisy Chain Fields in Irvine on Saturday, alongside Mitski, Chappel Roan, Doechii, and Olivia, who founded the festival this year as a charitable endeavour, with the net proceeds going to a number of non-profits including Planned Parenthood, the Centre for Reproductive Rights, and Baby2Baby, among others.
"I'm sending all my love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special. It’s going to be such an amazing day; and I can’t wait to see everyone out on tour," Megan concluded her message.
Megan's injury is just the latest in a particularly volatile few months for the girl group.
Tough few months for KATSEYE
Fellow member Manon went on hiatus from the group back in February to "focus on her health and well-being," while Sophia also confirmed earlier this month that she had to go on hiatus as well.
Who will replace KATSEYE?
Confirming the lineup change in an Instagram post, Daisy Chain Fields added Devon Again to the schedule.
Daisy Chain Fields will kick off on August 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California.
