Jake Reiner has broken his silence 8 months after the heinous murder of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner.
In the latest conversation with KABC-TV's Marc Cota-Roble, the eldest son of the slain director has expressed "rage" over his parents' murder as he briefly explained the story of the deceased director's murder and his wife's killing.
Without mentioning his younger brother Nick's arrest, Jake said, "It manifests into rage, into how unfair this was, how I didn't get a say in what happened."
"I didn't get to stop it from happening. I had no choice in the matter. I just have to accept the reality of it. And to me, that is just one of the most infuriating parts of all of this," he added.
Jake further explained that he will never understand who killed his parents and what happened to his family; no matter what facts come out, he will never accept the situation is happening to him after the alleged murder.
The grieving son of Rob and Michele confirmed that he has not spoken to his brother, who has been behind bars in connection to his parents' murders in December last year.
He has not even attended any of Nick's court appearances and neglected to comment on the 32-year-old's attempt to access their family trust.
When asked whether it was "Ever a fear … that something like this could happen, that [Nick] was capable," Jake replied with a smile, "I don’t think I want to answer that one."
However, he did say, "I mean, he’s in jail so… you know, it’s like I physically lost my parents, and then Nick was arrested, and now it’s just me and Romy [Reiner]."
When and how Rob and Michele Reiner died?
For those unfamiliar, Rob and Michele Reiner were killed in their California home in December last year, with their middle child, Nick Reiner, arrested for the murder.
Their daughter, Romy, discovered their bodies in the master bedroom of the house that afternoon and emergency services were called around 3:38 p.m.
