Speaking with Harper’s Bazaar, Dion opened up about her preparations for the concerts and the personal doubts she has faced since being diagnosed.
She has been preparing for her shows with a rigorous workout schedule, which consists of 90-minute Pilates sessions three times a week along with twice-weekly ballet classes with a local company.
“It is a progressive condition. I don’t like to say ‘disease.’ Disease makes you go like this,” she said, scrunching her nose and saying, “Kevin, you’re such a disease.”
She received her SPS diagnosis in 2022 after her symptoms worsened during a 2020 flare-up amid the start of the pandemic.
For three years, Dion stayed largely away from fans, partly fearing they might think she was enjoying a normal life while continuing to cancel shows.
