Sean “Diddy” Combs has received another good news regarding his prison release.
On Thursday, September 3, TMZ reported that the 56-year-old disgraced music mogul is set for earlier freedom as his prison release date has once again been moved up.
The rapper – who is currently serving his time behind the bars at Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, for running a sex-trafficking operation – is now scheduled to come out on February 5, 2028.
Diddy’s new release date comes after last month it was reported that he was scheduled to come out of prison on February 20, 2028.
This latest update has granted the American rapper serve two weeks lesser behind the bars than before.
Diddy’s prison altercation and solitary confinement
The I Need a Girl rapper was placed in solitary confinement last month after he allegedly got involved in a fight with a fellow inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey.
According to insiders, the altercation began after the other inmate allegedly insulted Diddy, prompting the rapper to confront him that led to a scuffle, with both of them reportedly shoving each other and exchanging punches before the prison staff intervened and separated them.
About Diddy’s sentence
Diddy is currently serving a four-year sentence at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey for prostitution-related charges.
The sentence, which was handed down in October 2025, also included a fine of $500,000 and mandatory participation in programmes for his mental health and substance abuse issues.
He was found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution following a federal trial in New York.
Meanwhile, the 56-year-old was acquitted of more severe charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering charges, which could have resulted in life behind bars.
Diddy is also participating in a drug-abuse rehabilitation programme at FCI Fort Dix, while his legal team continues to appeal his conviction and sentence.
