Apple iPhone event 2026: iPhone 18 launch day is finally here
The recent reports point to major camera enhancements, more RAM and improved charging, although several details appear questionable.
Screenshots reportedly shared with MacRumors by a Verizon AI user show the carrier’s AI assistant answering questions regarding the forthcoming iPhones.
As per the claims, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is likely to consist of a variable-aperture main camera ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0. This could improve low-light photography, create more natural background blur and deliver sharper group shots.
Moreover, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to feature advanced sensor-shift optical image stabilisation and a larger main camera sensor, offering better image quality and low-light video performance.
Another major upgrade could be the telephoto camera. A report suggested the iPhone 18 Pro Max is scheduled to feature a 48MP telephoto lens with up to 10x optical zoom, in contrast to the 8x on the iPhone 18 Pro. The Pro Max could also get 16GB of RAM, while the smaller Pro model may have 12GB.
However, the leaked AI responses should be treated cautiously. Some information, including pricing and colour options, appears inconsistent with more recent reports.
Moreover, the phones are likely to consists of 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, longer battery life on the Pro Max, triple-camera systems, 48MP main and ultrawide cameras and Apple’s A20 Pro chip.
Meanwhile, iOS 27 code discoveries reportedly suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro models could support charging speeds up to 33% faster as compared to the iPhone 17 Pro lineup. The standard iPhone 18 may potentially receive the same charging upgrade.
