Apple is preparing to release the flagship iPhone 18 series with a new foldable iPhone Ultra model expected this year that could cost close to the reduced leaks from several markets.
While rumours have placed the handset between $2,000 and $2,500 in the US, leaked international listings offer new clues ahead of the highly anticipated release.
Apple iPhone Ultra expected cost
A Vodafone Egypt listing reportedly showed the iPhone Ultra with a starting rate of 155,750 Egyptian pounds.
Although that converts to over $3,000, comparing it with the local pricing of the iPhone 17 Pro suggests the foldable could be nearly 75% more expensive.
Another alleged Vodafone leak from Australia lists the device at A$3,699, or roughly $2,666. Compared with the iPhone 17 Pro’s A$1,999 starting price, this represents a spike of nearly 85%.
iPhone 18 Pro prices could increase
Moreover, the flagship iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are likely to become more expensive. A leak suggested the models could initiate at 98,000 and 105,000 Egyptian pounds.
If similar raises apply across the US, the iPhone 18 Pro could see a modest $100 price hike. However, TrendForce has previously projected a larger raise of $149 to $200 for both Pro models.
Foldable iPhone faces strong competition
The Cupertino-based tech giant’s first foldable iPhone will enter a competitive market. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 initiates at $1,899, while additional foldable options from the leading players of industry, including Samsung, Motorola and Google are accessible at reduced rates.
However, Apple’s ecosystem and iOS could give the iPhone Ultra a major advantage. Additionally, it would become the only foldable smartphone running iOS.
Apple event launch date
Despite the leaks, Apple’s final pricing remains unconfirmed. The company is expected to reveal the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and its first foldable iPhone at its September 9 event.
