Paul Walker’s brother Cody Walker has opened up about the late actor’s potential future in the Fast & Furious franchise.
While conversing with Entertainment Weekly, The Last Full Measure star teased the possibility as he revealed that filmmakers could use AI to bring his beloved character Brian O’Conner back to the big screen.
Cody, alongside brother Caleb, helped complete Paul’s scenes in Furious 7 after his death in a 2013 car crash, disclosed that he would not be the part of the franchise’s 11th and final movie.
“My stance is, it’s what [Paul’s daughter] Meadow wants to see done; it’s her father,” Cody said, before adding, “I would not be interested in doing that again.”
According to Cody, Brian’s farewell was fitting, as the character stepped away from racing to focus on his family with Mia and their two children.
“They didn’t kill him off, they didn’t do something cheesy like that,” Cody noted.
He added, “It’s beautiful, [Brian] is off raising his kids. But if they want to do that, if Meadow would like to see that, they don’t need me or Caleb.”
The Abandoned Mine star continued, “AI was not a thing back in 2014, so they could do that. There’s years of footage that was never used from these other ‘Fast’ films. They’re the best in the business, they can figure that out.”
Vin Diesel hinted at Paul Walker’s return
Vin Diesel, producer and star of the Fast & Furious franchise, hinted at Paul’s character making a comeback at FuelFest in June 2025.
“The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of ‘Fast & Furious’ [in] April 2027?'” Diesel told fans, adding, “I said, ‘Under three conditions.'”
“First, is to bring the franchise back to LA! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing,” he continued.
Diesel noted, “The third thing was reuniting [Diesel’s character] Dom and Brian O’Connor.”
However, Diesel kept details of Brian’s potential return under wraps, though the character’s Furious 7 farewell was completed using CGI.
Notably Paul Walker died midway through production of the 2015 movie. He was 40 years old.
