Kate Middleton marked a surprise return to the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she received her cancer treatment, to see how her funds from the Three Peaks Challenge are being used.
On Friday morning, September 11, the Princess of Wales met patients and staff at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.

The princess underwent a course of preventative chemotherapy at the hospital for six months after she received a cancer diagnosis in February 2024.
Since then she has visited the hospital several times to meet patients and talk to staff about treatments being offered at the world-renowned cancer facility.

In July, Kate climbed the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, within 24 hours, believed to be a royal first.
During the hospital visit, Kate learned how the money she raised through the challenge is going to be spent in order to support people both during and after a cancer journey.
It was shared that the fund would be used to create a new holisitic care centre.

Talking about the Three Peaks Challenge, she said, "This was my small way of being able to give back and say thank you to you. I had incredible care here and support from a huge team and I'm really really grateful on a personal level."
"But also the holistic care, the treatments and therapeutic support on the outside is so important. It makes a big difference. The impact of nature, the impact of good nutrition, good ongoing support around you when it's really difficult to manage the trials and tribulations of medical treatments."
She added, "It makes a big difference. It made a big difference to me and it made a huge difference to lots of patients who I've spoken to."
The princess, who announced she was receiving cancer treatment in March 2024, previously said the climb was a "chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back".
Notably, Kate became joint patron of the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, alongside her husband, Prince William, in 2025 following her own personal cancer journey.
