Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to represent the British monarchy during a meaningful engagement in London.

On Monday, September 14th, the Prince and Princess of Wales' aides confirmed that the future monarch and his life partner will attend a glitzy premiere in London next week.

It has been announced that the Prince and Princess of Wales will attend the Royal Film Performance World premiere of Digger at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square on Tuesday, September 22nd.

What role Prince William will step into during his appearance at Royal Film Performance World premiere of Digger?

During their appearance, the next heir to the British throne will step into his role as President of BAFTA, supporting the Film and television charity.

Notably, William and Catherine are expected to be greeted by the Deputy Lord Lt and senior representatives from the Film and TV Charity before hitting the red carpet.

How many actors will Prince William meet at Royal Film Performance World premiere of Digger?

Apart from Tom Cruise, who is set to appear in Digger, the royal pair also meet members of the cast and creative team, including the filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

They will then be greeted by the cinema manager and introduced to beneficiaries from the Film and TV Charity before moving into the auditorium to view the film.

The royal performance aims to raise funds for the charity to support those across the film, television and cinema industries, many of whom work behind the scenes to bring stories to life on our screens.

When was Prince William become the president of BAFTA?

For the unfamiliar, Prince William became the fifth president of BAFTA on February 21, 2010.

He took over the role from Lord Attenborough, who served as president from 2002 to 2010.

His first official duty in this role was presenting the actress Vanessa Redgrave with the Academy Fellowship at the 2010 awards ceremony.

Tuesday's premiere will be hosted by Warner Bros. Pictures and the Film and TV Charity, and will be the 73rd Royal Film Performance delivered by the charity in its over 100-year history.

This appearance also marked their first since the royal return of Prince William's younger brother, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, six years after living in the USA.

Despite having the entertainment background of the Duchess of Sussex, who is now a former US actress, it is unclear whether she will attend the event or not.
