Earl Spencer’s highly anticipated new book about his late sister, Princess Diana, has been stolen in the Netherlands just days before its release.
As per the recent report, the multiple copies of Charles Spencer's upcoming memoir Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, have been stolen in a lorry robbery in the Netherlands.
The Dailymail reported that the Dutch authorities launched an investigation after a lorry loaded with thousands of the books was broken into at a lay-by earlier this week.
Thieves took four copies of the memoir, which had been concealed in black plastic wrapping, after the lorry was parked overnight while travelling from a Central European printer to a distribution warehouse.
The theft has caused a major disruption to the book’s release plans just days ahead of its global launch.

Earl Spencer's memoir gives a personal insight into his relationship with his older sister and the challenges she faced in her marriage to the then-Prince of Wales.
The book also provided the details of the tumultuous period that followed Diana's fatal car accident in August 1997.
Describing his upcoming work, Earl Spencer wrote on Instagram: "When I finished the recording, I thought: 'That is exactly what I wanted and needed to say - and she would, I reckon, have approved of every word'."
He revealed that the work has been hailed as “historic” and “extraordinarily moving,” providing an unparalleled insight into the seismic period after the Princess’s death.
Charles shared, "This has convinced me to write down my own thoughts and memories, once and for all, rather than having the discomfort of again reading the opinions of others, many of which are based on untruths that have become accepted over time.”
He explained that the book seeks to tell Diana’s story from her brother’s point of view, much like he attempted to do in his address at her funeral.
Penguin Michael Joseph, an imprint of Penguin Random House, is set to release Swan Song globally next Tuesday.
