Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie could be in line for major new royal roles as the development has been “kept on ice” as the monarchy weighs its next move.
A new Channel 5 documentary has shed light on the York sister’s finances, with the sisters reportedly in line for a £5 million inheritance and potential new roles.
Beatrice and Eugenie jointly landed eighth on the 2026 Royal Rich List, but their ranking could climb as their fortunes grow.
According to the documentary’s narrator, Beatrice and Eugenie’s fortunes are believed to have been boosted by a series of alleged “windfalls” from the Firm, beginning after their parents’ separation.
Charlotte Griffiths, the editor at large for the Mail on Sunday, said, "Beatrice and Eugenie, like many of their friends, have a trust fund, but theirs actually came through tragedy, really, because it's when their parents divorced. The Queen gave them a £1.4million trust fund."
The narrator added, "And in just a few years, on their 40th birthdays, the sisters are alleged to receive another whopping windfall, a reported share of a £5 million inheritance from their great-grandmother, the Queen Mother."
Charlotte explained that the money was placed in a fund where it grew through interest, potentially giving the sisters a “good stipend” when they reach the milestone.
Beatrice and Eugenie are reportedly worth around £3.5 million each. Earlier this year, claims suggested King Charles was keeping the sisters “on ice,” with William expected to decide their future roles.
Royal author Ingrid Seward said they could become “valuable assets” to the future King.
Speaking to Hello! she shared, "I think they would be open to doing more because they like to give back. They have always been close to William, and the King is very fond of them too.
Seward added, "Having slimmed down the monarchy, I don't think he will change his mind, so I think he will leave it to William to bring them into the fold. I think they're being kept on ice."
Despite holding HRH titles, Beatrice and Eugenie were not working royals and pursued careers of their own.
Beatrice worked at Sony Pictures and later Afiniti, reportedly earning £150,000–£200,000 annually, while Eugenie joined Hauser & Wirth with a reported salary exceeding £100,000.
