Sutton Foster is reportedly “fearful” of Hugh Jackman’s close friendship with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, amid growing scrutiny surrounding the Hollywood stars’ relationship.
The 57-year-old Marvel star has reportedly been urged by Foster, 51, to distance himself from the Deadpool and Wolverine star and the Gossip Girl star.
“Sutton and Blake don't get on, and combined with the fact that Blake's recent legal issues have affected Ryan's career, Sutton's right to be fearful of Hugh hanging out with Ryan,” an insider shared week's Woman's Day magazine.
“Hugh's not having any of it, of course. He's always been a loyal friend and has seen so many of his close mates go through hell – he's always stood by them. Ryan's one of them,” they said.
The tipster shared, “He knows Ryan's not doing so well and wants to help him get through this, no matter who it upsets.”
They claimed that although Foster appreciated Jackman standing by Reynolds and Lively during her lengthy legal battle with It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni, she now felt he had gone too far.
However, the sources said Jackman had no intention of ending the friendship, given his years-long bond with Reynolds and everything they had experienced together.
Foster was reportedly unhappy with the situation, as she had never been close to Lively and had struggled to form a bond with her.
“When it comes to Blake's one-on-one with Sutton, they've never had a deep and meaningful friendship,” an insider shared.
Adding to the tension, Jackman’s $40 million New York City penthouse has remained on the market since March, when he listed the five-bedroom property less than a year after his divorce from Deborra-Lee Furness was finalised.
The former couple bought the apartment for $33 million in 2008, with Jackman now seeking a multimillion-dollar profit.
Furness and Jackman first listed the apartment for $54.2 million in June 2022 but withdrew it two months later.
In September 2023, they instead put it up for rent at $174,000 a month, around the time they announced their separation.
