Apple has officially started launching its redesigned Health app in the iOS 27.2 developer beta offering users a glimpse into new features, which is particularly designed to offer more meaningful insights from health and fitness data.

The updated app continues to gather information from Apple Watch and other Bluetooth-enabled fitness devices; however, it’s far beyond only storing data.

This significant launch comes a few days after Apple released its highly anticipated iOS 27.

The Cupertino-based tech giant has launched the latest sections that assess users’ health metrics and trends.

The beta includes an Insights tab that offers an overview of daily health measurements and trends across areas such as sleep, fitness and readiness.

Currently, the readiness feature is accessible exclusively on Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.

Another significant addition is the Longevity tab that includes some new health-related tools. One of them is Health Age that utilises data gathered by the company’s flagship Watch to estimate the function of a person’s body in contrast to their actual age.

Moreover, the redesigned app launches movement assessments that can measure several factors such as strength, balance, and flexibility.

Moreover, Apple has added written and video content from health experts, with the information expected to change based on users’ health data.

Some previously announced features are not yet available in the current beta. These include personalised Insights summaries, individual recommendations and the option to order laboratory tests via Quest.

With the changes, Apple has moved its Health app closer to services offered by wearable companies such as Oura and Whoop, which turn collected health data into scores, summaries and recommendations.

Notably, Apple has yet to officially announce a launch date for the public release, stating only that the redesigned Health app will launch by the end of this year.
