Jack Haven is opening up about the financial reality of working in Hollywood, revealing they need to land $4,000 worth of acting work to qualify for health insurance.
In a Friday, September 18 YouTube video titled “Are You Casting?”, the I Saw the TV Glow star said they’re “in a bit of an emergency situation” and need to earn $4,000 by the end of September to qualify for SAG’s health insurance in January.
“I will do pretty much any job. I can sing, I can dance, I can talk softly, loudly. I can do accents,” they added.

Soon after he dropped the video, many of the commenters praised Haven for his positive approach.
“i think it’s insane that you don’t have studios begging to cast you. your work is amazing and i’m excited to see you in more projects in the future! wishing you luck,” wrote one person.
“You were incredible in I Saw the TV Glow, Jack. I really hope you find what you need soon!” said another.
The third added, “Kind of insane how even (relatively) famous people in America can get totally f***** over in terms of healthcare.”
While another mentioned, “Terrible to hear that an actor of your calibre that has been in the kind of projects that you’ve been in is hard pressed for cash. Hope it works out for you!”
Screen Actors Guild members must earn a minimum amount through covered union work within a set period to qualify for benefits.
The threshold usually falls between $25,950 and $28,933 per year, with members also able to qualify by completing a required number of credited workdays.

Jack is best known for I Saw the TV Glow, but they also starred in director Jane Schoebrun‘s newest movie Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma co-starring Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson.
