After being hospitalized for over a month, Angry Anderson has tragically died at the age of 79.
Australian legendary musician's death was announced by the singer's family and his rock band, Rose Tattoo's bandmates, in a grieving joint statement on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026.
"Angry was a devoted father, and much-loved member of his friends, bandmates and the wider music and entertainment community. His loss will be deeply felt by all those who knew and loved him both here in Australia and overseas," the heartbreaking message said.
The bandmates further revealed that the deceased musician's family urged his fans to respect their privacy as they cope with the huge loss.
"The family and band members are asking for privacy at this difficult time and will not be giving interviews. We kindly ask that their wishes are respected as they come to terms with this devastating loss and take the time they need to grieve," they captioned.
Notably, the cause of death of Angry is yet to be disclosed as family and friends are currently preparing for his mass funeral, stating, "We thank everyone for their prayers and messages of love and continued support. With love, The Anderson family and Rose Tattoo Band. Stay young, grow strong. TFFT."

About deceased singer's early life
Late Angry Anderson was born into a household riven by violence, to a Mauritian mother and an Anglo-Australian father he later described as a "very explosive person."
During his association with Rose Tattoo, he released anthems including Bad Boy for Love, Rock n' Roll Outlaw, and We Can't Be Beaten.
Angry also enjoyed a solo career, and he scored a Number 3 hit in the UK in 1987 with his ballad ‘Suddenly’, after it was played during Scott and Charlene's wedding in the Australian soap opera Neighbours.
