Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared that his nation would not be ‘intimidated’ by anyone following his ‘landslide victory’ in yet another re-election.
In a press conference on Monday, Putin celebrated his major win, which now makes him Russia's longest-serving head of state in more than 200 years.
According to AFP, the 71-year-old has managed to emerge victorious following a specially unrelenting campaign against his opposition, and anyone who publicly questions his authority or the war against Ukraine.
It is pertinent to mention that a majority of his principal opponents are either dead, in prison, or have been banished from Russia.
Putin addressed the press at his campaign headquarters in Moscow and stated, "I want to thank all of you and all citizens of the country for your support and this trust."
"No matter who or how much they want to intimidate us, no matter who or how much they want to suppress us, our will, our consciousness — no one has ever succeeded in anything like this in history. It has not worked now and will not work in the future. Never."
Putin acquired 87.2% of all votes cast, according to official election statistics.
