More than half of the US population disapprove of Israeli military action in Gaza, as revealed by Gallup's recent polls.
The latest results from the March 1-20 survey show that 55% of Americans taking part in the poll disproved Israeli warfare in Gaza.
Meanwhile, only 36% of people supported Israeli actions while the rest of the 9% did not have any opinion.
In comparison, in the November 2023 Gallup survey, 50% of Americans approved while 45% people disapproved of the military action in Gaza.
After almost six months of war, thousands deaths of Palestinians, and growing starvation, the recent polls reveal a clear shift in opinion.
According to Gallup, all three major party groups in the US, Republicans, Democrats, and Independents, have become less supportive of Israeli actions in Gaza than they were in November 2023.
Democrats were already in opposition to military action in Gaza. Even in the recent polls the disapproval percentage increased from 63% to 75%.
Republicans still support Israel but with a reduced majority; from 71% to 64% now.
A major shift in the opinion of Independents is also observed.
In November 2023, 47% of people approved and 48% disapproved of Israeli action but now the majority 60% of the Independents are against Israeli actions while 29% are still supporting.
These polls were completed before the UN Security Council passed the resolution of ceasefire during Ramadan on Monday, March 25.
