Michael Slater reportedly fell in an Australian court after his bail request was denied on several charges

Michael Slater, a former Australian test cricketer, reportedly fell in an Australian court after his bail request was denied on several charges on Tuesday in a Queensland court.

As reported by ABC News, the 54-year-old test cricketer needed help getting up from the floor by court staff when a Queensland magistrate rejected his bail application.

Slater, who is also known as a TV commentator faces accusations of domestic violence, common assault, and stalking.

The Queensland Police stated that Slater was accused of sending unwelcoming text messages and making threatening phone calls over the past six months.

However, he is scheduled to reappear in court at the end of May.

The reports further suggested that the court was informed of Slater's mental condition, which could lead to impulsive and reckless behaviour.

For the unversed, Slater was arrested last Friday over the alleged offences during December 5 to April 12, and for breaking a domestic violence rule 10 times.

Michael Slater has played 74 Test matches from 1993 to 2001, scoring over 5,000 runs for Australia, including 14 centuries.

He also played 42 one-day internationals before retiring from all cricket in 2004.
