Pakistan is all set to launch its second satellite 'PAKSAT MM1’ in space on Thursday, May 30.

As per local media, Pakistan will send its second communication satellite, named 'PAKSAT MM1’, to improve the TV broadcasts, mobile phone, and internet service.

As per the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), the second multi-mission satellite will be launched from XiChang Satellite Launch Centre, China, on Thursday.

Suparo said in a statement, “This satellite project is the hallmark of technological cooperation between China and Pakistan.”

The research commission believed that, based on advanced communication technologies, this satellite would play an important role in uplifting the socio-economic condition of the country.

Suparco suggested, “It will prove to be a stepping-stone in the transformation of the country into digital Pakistan.”

It further added, “While the upfront costs of satellite development may seem daunting, the long-term benefits far outweigh the investment.”

It noted that investing in satellite infrastructure could create high-tech jobs, attract investment and drive overall economic development.

It is believed that the satellite ‘PAKSAT MM1' will start providing its services in August.

Earlier in the beginning of May 2024, Pakistan launched its first-ever mission to the moon with the iCube Qamar satellite.
