Paris has almost completed all the preparations for the grand opening ceremony of the biggest sporting event, the Olympic 2024.

According to BBC, Thomas Jolly, who is overseeing the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies as artistic director, said, “I’d like to show France in all its diversity (in the opening ceremony).”

He further added, “(Ceremony will) illustrate the richness and plurality shaped by its history, which has been influenced and inspired by the diverse cultures that have passed through it, while itself serving as a source of inspiration."

Time and Date

The opening ceremony will take place on Friday, July 26 at 7:10 p.m. local time (17:30 GMT). However, some of the sports have begun before the official opening ceremony including soccer and rugby sevens on July 24, and archery and handball on July 25.

Venue

Unlike the usual opening ceremony in stadiums, the Paris Games official opening event will take place on the famous River Seine. Thousands of fans will line the river and streets to watch the ceremony.

Unique Olympic Parade in Boat

Around 10,500 athletes will travel along the Seine during the parade in almost 100 boats. The larger of the 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will have boats for themselves while the smaller ones will share boats.

Athletes Outfits for the Ceremony

Multiple top Brands have designed uniforms for the athletes of different countries. Some of the outfits represent the culture and heritage of their countries while others will wear sporty outfits.
