The International Cricket Council (ICC) has finalized the budget for the upcoming Champions Trophy during the annual meeting in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

According to Geo Super, the budget was approved on the last day of the meeting on Monday, July 22 in the presence of Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi.

ICC Chief Finance Officer Ankur Khanna and PCB Chief Finance Officer Javed Murtaza prepared the budget for the tournament.

To note, despite the rumors of selecting a neutral venue or plan B for Indian team matches PCB stands firm on its stance of hosting the Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

As per PCNB’s proposed schedule to ICC, the eight matches of the tournament will take place at three venues: Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. All the matches of Team India are scheduled in Lahore.

Stadiums in the three cities, Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium, Karachi's National Bank Cricket Arena, and Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium, will be elevated ahead of the mega event for which PCB has allocated a budget of Rs12.680 billion.

Additionally, except for India, the rest of the teams, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, have already played in Pakistan.
