Novak Djokovic refused to live in the Olympic Village with the other athletes during the Paris 2024 Games.

According to Express, Djokovic has booked himself his own accommodation to live in privacy while competing for the gold medal in the Olympic tennis tournament instead of staying with thousands of other athletes at the Village.

An organizing member of the Serbian team told a media outlet, “We expect Novak to arrive within the next few days, although he will not be staying with us in the village.”

The 37-year-old won his only Olympic medal, which was a bronze, in the 2018 Beijing Games. He will be desperate to claim his first gold medal in most likely his final Olympics.

Moreover, this announcement came as a surprise, as the 24-time Grand Slam winner said in 2021 about his experience of living in a village during the Tokyo Olympics, “I’m enjoying every second in a place with more than 10,000 athletes, exchanging knowledge, life stories, and things about sports. You don’t get that kind of experience anywhere else.”

It is also thought that Djokovic has made this decision to focus on his game after losing Wimbledon finals this month.
