UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer wrote a heartfelt message dedicated to his daughter in honor of International Women’s Day.

Sir Keir posted a long tribute to his daughter on his Instagram account, along with a picture of himself writing a letter.

The post reads, “To my daughter, You are my pride and joy. It’s for you, and your generation, that I do this job.”

The statement added, “To make sure your skills and talents determine how far you go, not your gender. To make sure your future is defined by hope, security and opportunities, not prejudice or limits.

“On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of women before you, and look forward to the achievements possible in an equal world,” it further added.

The prime minister does not often talk about his children, who include a teenage son and a teenage daughter.

On the other hand, other ministers have made commitments to address the gender pay gap and improve opportunities for women.

At the same time, Baroness Harriet Harman, a Labour peer has started her new role as the UK's special envoy for women and girls.

As per BBC, the government said it is "accelerating action to change women's lives" on this day as part of its Plan for Change.
