Rajpal Yadav recently faced a major blow in a case related to a cheque of ₹9 crore .
For the unversed, Yadav was arrested in February in an Rs 9 crore cheque bounce case, however, he was released few days after depositing Rs 1.5 crore.
However, things are seemingly turning serious for the 55-year-old actor as over 21 cases have been filed against him.
Now, during the latest hearing, the complainant’s counsel, advocate Avneet Singh Sikka, argued that serving a jail sentence does not absolve the Baby John actor of his financial obligations.
The lawyer also pointed out that the Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor himself had admitted to an outstanding amount of Rs 10 crore.
However, when the Delhi High Court asked how the payment would be made, Yadav changed his stance, saying that he was willing to go to jail instead.
He also claimed that he had already paid the money earlier and mentioned that he had previously served time in jail.
For the unversed, Rajpal Yadav’s case began in 2010 when he took a Rs 5 crore loan for his film Ata Pata Laapata.
The movie did not perform at all and ultimately became a box office failure, leading to his conviction in 2018 and a six-month jail sentence.
Later upheld in 2019, the dues against the Bhoot Bangla actor rose to nearly Rs 9 crore.
