Meesha Shafi recently broke silence on social media after losing a defamation case against Ali Zafar.
The 44-year-old singer took to Instagram Stories and shared a series of thought-provoking quotes right a day after the final verdict delivered yesterday by a Lahore sessions court in favour of Zafar.
Her story read, “Not every victory comes in the form of a court decision.”
It went on to add, “When a woman finds the courage to speak up ..... that is a victory.
“When other women stand beside her ...that is another victory.
“When woman continue to support, believe, and amplify her voice over time... those are years of victory.”
According to Shafi’s other post, it takes immense strength, weeks, months, sometimes years for a woman to say that was wrong.
The Aaya Laariye songstress’ third story read, “So to those celebrating what they call a "loss".... look again. This was not a loss. This was history.”
Shafi’s fourth and last snap read, “Because she makes it possible for the next woman to speak a little louder, a little sooner, a little less alone.”
The Bholay Bhalay hitmaker’s social media post comes a day after a Lahore sessions court ordered Meesha Shafi to pay Rs. 5 million in damages to Ali Zafar, concluding an 8-year defamation suit regarding 2018 sexual harassment allegations.
