Ali Zafar has finally spoken out on his thrilling legal victory.
The 45-year-old Pakistani singer and actor on Tuesday, March 31, emerged as victor in the high-profile defamation lawsuit against Pakistani-Canadian singer Meesha Shafi, after an intense legal battle that lasted eight years.
Two days after his epic triumph, Zafar took to his official Instagram account on Thursday, April 2, to finally break his silence on the matter.
"Grateful to God and to everyone who stood by me and by the truth during some testing times in my life," began the Mujhe Tum Nazar Se crooner.
Despite the major victory, Zafar noted that he does not feel triumphed and has only feelings of "humility and gratitude."
"Justice has finally been done. I feel no triumph, only humility and gratitude. I hold no ill feelings toward anyone," he penned.
The singer went on to express that he now wants himself as well as everyone to move forward and close this chapter forever.
"For me. this chapter is now closed. I pray we can all move forward with grace and peace," concluded the Pehli Si Muhabbat hitmaker.
On Tuesday, a Lahore court ruled in favor of Ali Zafar and ordered Meesha Shafi to pay him 5 million rupees in damages.
For those unaware, Zafar had sued Shafi for defamation in 2018 after she accused him of sexual harassment in Pakistan’s highest-profile #MeToo case.
