Rising South Korean actor Hong Ming-gi has been hit with terrifying allegations from his former partner, including domestic violence and dog abuse. She also claimed the actor forced her to abort a pregnancy.
After the physical assault claims and Min-gi alleged troubling behaviour towards fans, cast and crew on set made headlines, his ex-girlfriend, referred to as Influencer A, claimed that he forced her to have an abortion.
Responding to the claims, the actor's agency, Fable Company, issued a statement on Thursday, August 20, vehemently denying the claims.
After the company denied the allegations, A shared ultrasound scans, OB/GYN medical records and evidence of the alleged physical assault on her Instagram account.
She also shared a screenshot of the texts, and a video of herself collapsed on the floor, while a man sitting besides her head, lightly hits her head.
The ex-girlfriend captioned the post, "This is the clip where they dragged me back home while I was drunk and unconscious against my will, then teamed up with friends to mock and laugh at me [the one slapping my cheek is Hong Min-ki]."
What did Hong Mingi's agency say about the abortion claims?
Reacting to the claims initially, the company stated, "Ms. A claims that she discovered she was pregnant during her relationship with the actor and underwent an abortion procedure, asserting that she has medical records and ultrasound images to support this. However, our investigation confirms that Ms. A never showed Hong Min-gi a pregnancy test kit, and contrary to her claims, there is absolutely no record of the actor making any statements urging her to have an abortion."
They added, "On July 13, the day Ms. A claims she had an abortion, she proposed to Hong Min-gi that they go cycling together. When he refused, she sent him a video of herself cycling alone. We have secured and preserved both the conversation records and the video."
Fable Company vows to take legal action
The label noted the claims have caused Min-gi "severe damage to his reputation and image that is difficult to recover from. We will no longer respond by repeatedly refuting the other party's false claims".
Min-gi's agency also shared that they will be taking legal actions "in both civil and criminal courts" against the accuser.
This came after it was reported that Influencer A has filed a complaint on July 28, titled "Notice of Legal Action for Illegal Criminal Acts" and alleged that Hong Min-gi threw dangerous objects, assaulted, and threatened her.
Born in 2002, Hong Min-gi made his acting debut in 2020 and has appeared in several hit K-dramas, including Love Your Enemy, To My Beloved Thief, Doctor on the Edge, Trigger, Crushology 101, and Study Group.
