Nick Jonas is sharing his journey with type 1 diabetes as Jonas Brothers' brand new Burning Up Tour All Over Again has begun.
On Thursday, August 20th, the three brothers, Nick, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas, took to the stage to officially mark the start of their new musical tour.
While performing their iconic rendition, Priyanka Chopra’s husband halted his performance to recall his diagnosis with type 1 diabetes at the age of 13 and reassured his younger self, "Everything is okay."
They were performing the band's 2008 track about the experience, A Little Bit Longer.
He began revealing, "I just wanted to try to write something about an experience that I had as a way to work through it."
"In a lot of ways it was like a journal entry" before he wore a bedazzled medical ID tag around his neck as he sat down at a piano and looked back on writing the ballad.
He continued explaining his sheer strength for sharing his chronic illness’ journey for the first time, as he stated, "A couple months later, I realised that by opening myself up, being that honest [and] sharing that story, I was able to connect deeper with every one of you. And we’re all going through something."
"I’ve been living with type 1 for 21 years now, and I look at that kid who was 13 or 14. You know, I want to tell him, if I got the chance to look in the mirror and tell him," he added.
When will Burning Up Tour All Over Again begin
During the show, Nick, Joe and Kevin also debuted the lyrics of their upcoming song, Listen When Sad, which is set to release on Friday, August 28th.
The Jonas Brothers have officially kicked off their The Burning Up Tour All Over Again with their opening night performance on August 20th, 2026, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
