South Korean actor Jang Dong-yoon, who famously became an actor after going viral in 2015 for helping police catch an armed robber at a convenience store in Seoul, have announce his marriage plans with Kim Seung-yoon after dating for years.
Jang Dong-yoon unveils wedding timeline
In a surprise handwritten statement shared on Tuesday, August 25, Daily Dose of Sunshine actor revealed that he and Kim will get married in October.
"This October, I will marry someone I have been with for a long time," Jang penned. "We plan to hold a quiet Christian wedding attended by our families."
"As we spent more time together, we came to know and understand each other better and grew to cherish one another," he wrote.
The Queen Mantis actor added, "We have decided to stand by each other's side and build a fun and happy life together."
About Jang Dong-yoon and Kim Seung-yoon romance
The announcement came as a surprise to fans, as the two had kept their relationship private.
Jang and Kim, who have a five-year age gap, first met as director and actor through the 2023 short film Please Be My Ear, which was The Tale of Nokdu actor's directorial debut.
Kim also played the lead role in The Yeast, Jang's feature-length directorial debut.
Jang Dong-yoon's Hanyang University graduation
After going viral for his 2015 heroic act, Jang was approached by multiple talent agencies, which prompted him to put his education at hold.
At the time, he was a student at Hanyang University's Department of Economics and Finance.
Recently, it was also announced that he had graduated from Hanyang University 15 years after enrolling.
