Queen Camilla is believed to be losing her calm over Prince William and Kate Middleton's new strategy for the future of monarchy.
The 79-year-old has already weathered many storms given her reputation of in Royal circles - since her name was first linked with King Charles when he was married to Princess Diana.
From tying the knot to King Charles in 2005 to becoming the Queen in 2022, Camilla have come a long way, however, the fear of losing her hard-earned position in the Royal Family still keeps her on the edge.
As The Prince and Princess of Wales prepare to take the throne after King Charles, Camilla is fearful of getting completely sidelined, per the insiders.
The sources are claiming that King's wife is convinced that Catherine and William are trying to outshine her position in the Royal Family by projecting, Duchess Sophie and Prince Edward as the "shining lights of the future."
An insider told Closer, "Camilla's ego is incredibly fragile so she doesn’t react well to any sense that her power is at risk of getting usurped."
They went on to explain that "It’s no secret that she and William clash quite badly and she’s had her spats with Kate as well so they’re never going to be close."
"For obvious reasons she’s very jealous of Kate but she’s now got a major issue with Sophie as well," added the insider.
According to the Palace source, Camilla thinks, "everywhere she turns it seems like Sophie is being projected as this sort of patron saint of the monarchy."
"For some time now the Waleses have been setting Sophie and Edward, and their children, up to be these shining lights of the future," they noted.
Before concluding, the tipster claimed that "It’s clear that the Waleses intend to bring Sophie and Edward further into the monarchy and empower them more and more and Camilla is obviously outside that clique, and being left out is extremely triggering for her."
