Netflix has addressed speculation that Meghan Markle could join The Gentlemen, responding with a four-word statement about the rumored casting.
As reported by PEOPLE, the Duchess of Sussex is in talks to join Guy Ritchie’s Netflix drama The Gentlemen.
The show was renewed for a third season on August 24, but no deal has been reached for Meghan to join the cast.
During the Edinburgh TV Festival on Wednesday, August 26, Netflix U.K. scripted chief Manda Levin gave a cryptic response when asked about Meghan Markle’s rumored casting.
“All bets are off,” she replied.
The Gentlemen, starring Theo James and Kaya Scodelario, is set and filmed in the U.K., while Meghan’s rumored role is still being written and her episode count remains unclear.
According to insiders, Meghan’s potential return to acting had been a topic of discussion between the Sussexes long before this latest opportunity.
At the time she met Harry in 2016, Meghan was living in Toronto and starring in Suits.
She stepped away from the show before their 2018 wedding and said in a 2022 Variety interview that she had finished with acting.

Meghan filmed two seasons and a holiday special of With Love, Meghan, which premiered in 2025, and also filmed a cameo as herself in the upcoming Close Personal Friends.
She was spotted on set in Pasadena in November 2025.
“She introduced herself to everyone and was very sweet and down-to-earth,” the source said at the time.
Notably, Meghan has longstanding ties to Netflix, with the Sussexes first signing a deal with the streamer in 2020 before extending their partnership for several more years in 2025.
A week later, it was confirmed that the Sussexes had returned to the U.K., arriving in Birmingham after flying privately from California.
The Sussexes’ U.K. move does not signal a return to royal duties.
Meghan will run As Ever from Britain, while Harry plans to spend more time with U.K.-based charities and the Invictus community.
