Queen Sonja and King Haakon VII stepped out together for the sombre memorial services of the late King Harald V.

After commemorating the 58th wedding anniversary without the deceased monarch, Her Majesty made a sombre appearance alongside her family to remember her partner, who died at the age of 89 just one day before their 58th wedding anniversary.

On Sunday, August 30th, Sonja, Haakon VII, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Alexandra, and Prince Sverre Magnus attended the pious event in Asker church.

Taking to the official Instagram account of the Norwegian Royal Family, the 53-year-old King of Norway's aides shared the exclusive glimpse of the funeral service, where the royal family appeared together for the first time for the remembrance event.

Along with the photos, the Palace also shared a note urging fans to join the services, taking place in the region.

"His Majesty King Haakon, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra, Queen Sonja and Prince Sverre Magnus were present during the funeral service in Asker church, following the passing of King Harald," they added.

The statement continued, "Today, the Norwegian church invites you to mourning services in all the country's cathedrals and in many churches across the country."

Notably, this update came after Haakon VII touched the heartstrings after he paid emotional tribute to his late dad, King Harald V and his mother, Queen Sonja, on what would have been their 58th wedding anniversary.

He kicked off the heartbreaking tribute by recalling one of the infamous sayings of his deceased dad, which read, "I don't think anyone can live a life without love, King Harald, 2013."

"Today, King Harald and Queen Sonja would be celebrating their 58th wedding day; through a long life, they stood by each other's side. Today, we also remember the love they shared over six decades," the grieving son noted.
