Pete Davidson is reflecting on his dad's legacy, who passed away in the horrifying 9/11 attack.

Talking about his father, Scott Davidson, the actor noted, "He was a firefighter for Ladder 118, Engine 205 in Brooklyn Heights."

"My dad loved being a fireman, and he loved saving people, as he did on that day," he added.

Talking about 9/11 Day and its UNIITE For Good campaign, Pete said, "9/11 is usually a tough day, but this organisation, 9/11 Day, does something cool where you do a good deed for someone and you pass it along."

"So, let's show up for each other. I think my dad would've loved that. So let's unite for good," Pete said, using the campaign title in his message.

About Pete Davidson's dad

Scott Matthew Davidson died at the age of 35 during the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York City.

As a fighter with Ladder Company 118, Pete's father was rushing to the World Trade Centre to help evacuate people and was last seen heading up the stairs of the Marriot World Trade Center before the towers collapsed.

He was only seven years old when his father died.

Talking about his dad's death, Pete previously told The New York Post, "I thought, 'Oh, he was an old guy. He's 33.' But now I'm there, and I have a kid, and that would be like my kid not having her dad."

"So this year is extra tough, but also extra beautiful because I get to spend the day with Scottie. It’ll be very healing and special."

Pete Davidson's daughter wholesome link to his father

Davidson, who turns 33 in November, welcomed Scottie, his daughter, with model Elsie Hewitt in December.

Although the couple split shortly after her birth, Davidson said they were united over their daughter's name.

"It was really cool that Elsie also wanted to name her Scottie," he said.

The comedian added, "My dad's name was Scott, but his nickname was Scotty. When she arrived, we both looked at her and were like, ‘She looks like a Scottie.’ It’s nice to keep that name alive."
