Tom Cruise has made surprising comments about Brad Pitt after the Hollywood icons were both hailed as the “last movie stars” of their generation.
While conversing with GQ Magazine, the Mission: Impossible star discussed his decades-long career, following a striking photoshoot for the magazine.
Zach Baron conducted the extensive interview and hailed Cruise as the “last movie star.”
Cruise said, “There’s really talented actors. Do you know what I’m saying? Like, Brad Pitt is a great actor, great star, great charisma and there’s many, many, many.”
He added, “I’m on the set with great craftsmen as a young kid and it’s not just 1981 where they’re there... it’s generational, so as you’re making movies, you’re learning from other people, and then you’re making it your own, but you’re learning it is a skill making films.”
Cruise portrayed Lestat de Lioncourt, a French vampire who takes Louis on a series of misadventures, while Pitt starred as Louis de Pointe du Lac, an 18th-century drunkard whom Lestat turns into a vampire.
He has supported his pal throughout the years as he famously joined him on the red carpet of the F1 premiere in London back in June 2025.

Cruise and Pitt have one more common connection their children have chosen to move away from their famous surnames.
Suri was registered to vote in Pennsylvania in October 2024 using the name Suri Noelle, voter records obtained by The Daily Mail show.
She studies at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Cruise has reportedly been completely estranged from his daughter for years following his 2012 divorce from Holmes, 47, and her decision to cut ties with Scientology.
On the other hand, Pitt's son Maddox is his latest child to drop the actor's last name.
Zahara, 21, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 18, have also dropped Pitt from their names socially, with plans to legally formalize the change.
