Zara and Mike Tindall have finally broken their cover following a tragic event.
On Friday, September 25, the former England Rugby captain and his wife Zara, who is Princess Anne’s daughter, made first appearance since the death of Mike’s father, Phil Tindall.
According to Hello!, the couple was spotted attending the Laver Cup and meeting with Swiss tennis player, Roger Federer, in the VIP stands.
During the game, the duo was also seen alongside players, Learner Tien, Francisco Cerundolo and Casper Ruud.
The images shared by the outlet showed the 47-year-old put on a brave face as he smiled for the photos while posing with his equestrian wife and the tennis players.
For the appearance, Mike Tindall was dressed in a white shirt, navy blue blazer, and off-white pants, while Zara looked stunning in a blue sating shirt, paired with navy blue pinstripe suit.
Notably, Zara and Mike Tindall have supported the Laver Cup for years, which was co-founded by their close friend Roger Federer.
The couple also regularly attend events supporting Federer’s projects, including the London screening of his documentary, Federer: Twelve Final Days.
Mike Tindall’s father Phil Tindall’s death
On the Wednesday, September 23 episode of his The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast, Mike Tindall announced that his father, Phil Tindall, died at the age of 80.
He shared that his dad passed away “last week” after a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s disease.
“Unfortunately, my dad passed away last week,” the 47-year-old shared.
He expressed his gratitude to Otley Rugby Club in West Yorkshire, where Phil once led the side as captain, saying, "Big shout-out to Otley Rugby Club. They played Chester on the weekend, and they did a minute's silence to my dad, who was captain in '72, '73.”
“That little moment, I got to watch it. Someone recorded it, sent it to me, and then they wrote a little thing in the program as well, which I read. But thank you very much to Otley Rugby Club for it.”
Phil Tindall had been struggling with Pakinson’s disease for decades. In a 2020 interview with the Daily Mail, Mike Tindall revealed that his father had been living with the disease for 17 years, with his condition gradually deteriorating.
“My dad has had Parkinson’s for the past 17 years. Over the last few years, I’ve really seen him deteriorate,” he shared.
In May 2026, Mike revealed that Phil was not doing great at the moment, adding that Parkinson's is brutal and there is no let-up from how it attacks the body and changes people.
