Former United States (US) President Donald Trump told Christians on Friday that if they vote for him in the upcoming November election, they won’t need to vote again because he’ll "have it fixed so good."

Speaking at a Turning Point Action event in West Palm Beach, Florida, Trump urged Christians to vote just one more time.

He said, "You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians."

Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung did not directly clarify Trump’s remarks but stated that Trump was "talking about uniting this country," as per Reuters.

Trump’s comments come amid criticism from Democratic opponents who accuse him of being a threat to democracy, especially after his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results led to the January 6th Capitol insurrection.

The race has tightened after President Biden ended his reelection bid, with Vice President Kamala Harris becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee.

Jason Singer, a spokesperson for the Harris campaign, called Trump’s overall speech "bizarre" and "backward looking" but did not directly address Trump’s remarks about Christians not needing to vote again.
