Parineeti Chopra praised Raghav Chadha in Parliament after he called for legal paternity leave in India.
The Kesari star posted an emotional response after her husband raised the issue of paternity leave during a recent session of the Rajya Sabha.
The politician from the Aam Aadmi Party demanded that paternity leave be granted as a legal right in India.
Chopra took to Instagram to share the clip, noting that his message was meaningful on both a personal and societal level.
She said, “My dearest husband, You spoke today not just as an MP but as the dad, I see every single day. We have discussed this so many times. How our baby deserves both parents to be present - to the best of their ability.”
Chopra mentioned, “So when you spoke today, it wasn’t just policy. It was built from the way you parent our child the way you show up without being asked, the way you understand that PARENTING IS SHARED, not assigned.”
In her note, she stated, “There are so many mothers who carry this responsibility alone, often unheard, unseen. Homes where the fathers’ and family support are missing. Today, you brought their loneliness into the Parliament - a room where it truly matters.”
Chopra noted that even helping a few families, especially mothers, would be meaningful, and calling the speech a message to her and mothers nationwide.
To note, Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha married on September 24, 2023, in Udaipur, later welcoming their first child, a boy named Neer, on October 19, 2025.
