Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has stepped out to greet his fans outside his residence, following his weekly rituals to treat fans by offering his glimpse.
The meeting comes after the Sholay star reassured fans that he is "doing fine" after a cryptic blog post sparked widespread concern about his health.
The 83-year-old addressed the ongoing rumours regarding his health, explaining that his words had been misunderstood and he hasn't undergone surgery,
Blog was about recovery, not his health
Speaking to Variety India, Bachchan said his blog described the emotional and physical challenges people face after surgery or an ICU stay, using it as a broader example rather than referring to himself.
The Bhoothnath alum stated, "I am fine. I did not undergo surgery. It is a misunderstood post. I was giving an example that the period after a surgery or ICU (Intensive Care Unit), the most difficult time is when you come home and have to deal with your damaged condition. So when a champion loses, the most difficult time is dealing with yourself in its aftermath.”
He was drawing a comparison with Lionel Messi and Argentina's recent World Cup final defeat. Bachchan explained that his message focused on how champions cope with setbacks, not on his personal medical condition.
Fans misunderstood his message
The confusion started after Bachchan wrote about surgery, intensive care, and the difficult period of returning home, leading many to believe he was recovering from a medical procedure.
On the professional front, Bachchan remains professionally active. He is set to make a return as the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18, premiering on August 10, and is also filming Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, reprising his role as Ashwatthama.
