Thomas Markle is seemingly as surprised as everyone else with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's UK return plan.

Meghan's dad has claimed that The Duchess of Sussex - who has arrived in the UK last week with Prince Harry and kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, did not tell him about their US exit plan beforehand.

Thomas - who reportedly moved to the US from Cebu in the Philippines in May this year told Daily Mail that he found out about his daughter and son-in-law's UK move from a news channel.

"I saw on CNN that they were returning to England. I found out about it at the same time as the rest of the world," said the 82-year-old, who underwent a lifesaving leg amputation surgery in December, 2025.

Sharing his true feelings over estranged daughter's shocking blow, Thomas added, "I'm hurt and upset that she doesn't give a damn about me, even though I'm in hospital."

"Meghan used to love me, she was always a daddy's girl, and now it's like I don't exist," he noted.

The former lighting director highlighted the fact that despite living in the US since May, he never got a chance to see Harry and Meghan's kids.

"I have never met my grandchildren, and now they are leaving America," he noted.

He went on to predict, "One day those kids will ask about their 'other' grandfather- the one who isn't King- the one that Meghan and Harry are apparently ashamed of.

"I hope they know how much I wanted to meet them," added Thomas.
